We sat down with Christian to discuss his playing career to date, the prospect of finals footy come September and his love affair with the new INFINITI Q50.

Thanks for your time, Christian. Let’s start with the incredible season the Demons are having. What’s been the biggest difference do you think for the club between this year and last?

A: Thanks for having me. The difference this year would be the experience and hunger, and belief, we have gained after last year’s defeat in round 23 which lead to not making finals. We are a young team and still growing and learning about how to play together which we are definitely improving in.

We’re approaching the pointy end of the season, and the Dees are sitting in a very good spot. What does it mean to you, and the boys, to be playing finals footy?

A: Means everything, considering we haven’t played finals in 12 years. Especially for our fans who have had an agonising wait. This is what we play for and hopefully the culture and environment we are building here at the footy club is recognised.

What have been some of the highlights throughout your playing career?

A: In the 3 years I’ve played there have been many highlights and challenges, putting the jumper on for the first time in 2016 after being sidelined for a year with my ACL injury was a surreal feeling. The Big Freeze for MND games are also something pretty special to be a part of.

Off the field, what do you enjoy getting up to?

A: I love to shoot some hoops in the local basketball courts, also taking my dogs for walks is a nice break. I have recently purchased some DJ decks and love mixing music also.

You’re a bit of a car enthusiast – how are you finding the new INFINITI Q50?

A: I’m absolutely loving it, there are so many luxurious features and it feels great to drive. It is such a smooth car and perfect for cruising around. I do a fair bit of driving and the Q50 makes me really enjoy the drive. I also love the red colour, very cool.

If you had to pick two features of the Q50 you liked the most, what would they be and why?

A: Definitely the heated seats for those early starts throughout winter. The 360 degrees reverse camera is so helpful for someone like me that makes tight parks in Richmond. I can't imagine what I did without these features!!

What’s your favourite place to get away to in the Q50?

A: I have taken it down to the Mornington Peninsula a couple of times, great to get away from the business of the city. The Bose sound system works a treat for the long drives.

You recently took part in our Demon Drivers challenge alongside skipper Nathan Jones. What was that experience like?

A: It was a very fun day, test driving the Q50 and seeing the cool features it has to offer under duress. I have never experienced the thrill of driving 200km/h before and I can’t believe they stitched me up with the fish bowl prank! It was an awesome out at Sandown Racecourse.

Best of luck for the remainder of the season, Christian – we’ll be cheering you and the rest of the boys on to victory!

Thanks for having me !!
